Should I use Square bulk edit or an import?
Bulk edit suits a few dozen prices you type in yourself. For a supplier's whole list, use an import. Square's bulk edit (opens in a new tab) handles up to 250 variations at once, and from the item library it can schedule a price change for a set date and time.
An import (opens in a new tab) takes every new price from the file in one go, with no typing. The risk is that one shifted column can change hundreds of prices. That is why each row shows your current price beside the new one.

Setting new prices from new costs
In the pricing rule, pick Markup or Target margin % in place of the supplier's retail price. A markup of 1.80 on a cost of 5.00 gives 9.00. A 40% target margin on the same cost gives 8.33.
The rule can also round prices to end in .99, .95 or .00. It can refuse to lower a price you already charge, and it can flag any row whose margin drops below a minimum you set. If only your costs are changing, read how to update Square unit costs from a supplier spreadsheet.
