Fix a Square item import error
Square checks the whole file on upload and then tells you what is wrong. Simple problems come back as changes Square offers to make for you, and you approve or decline each kind. A GTIN of the wrong length is one. So is an item whose variations carry different descriptions. The rest arrive as a downloadable error report, with the failed rows left out of your catalog. Working through that report and uploading again is the slow part of the job. This page runs the same checks first. It groups every problem by cause, counts the rows in each group, and gives the fix in one sentence. Where a repair is safe it applies to the whole group at once.
Two ways in: upload your export, or connect Square.
